Pupils from Key Stage 3 have been attending lunchtime workshops, organised by Mrs Bright, to make Christmas decorations for a Cowbridge Comprehensive School Christmas tree to be displayed at the local church. The decorations were based on ‘The Nativity’ and Year 9 has been studying the Nativity story this term.
A service was held at the Church on 23rd November so that everyone could enjoy the spectacle of over 60 trees that had been decorated by groups from the local community. Miss Owen’s Key Stage 3 Vocal Group performed several musical items for the congregation, as did the Cowbridge Male Voice Choir.
It was a lovely evening which put everyone into the Christmas spirit. The Church is open every day and the trees will be on display until January.
Every year Holy Cross Church invites local businesses, schools and organisations to display a tree at their Christmas Tree festival. Cowbridge Comprehensive School exhibited a tree for the first time last year and thoroughly enjoyed making decorations for the tree. We were thrilled to be invited to enter a tree again this year.
