Thank you to pupils, parents and staff for supporting last Friday's Go Green Day and helping us to raise almost £1,330 for green causes.
The Eco-Committee members organised a very successful cake sale which raised more than £300 - they are very grateful to everybody who brought in cakes for the sale. Also, the canteen served green food as well as food which was sourced locally to mark the day.
Many pupils made the effort to travel to school in sustainable ways, with many cycling or walking. Also, a Year 7 class took part in a project to ensure that our woodlands are sustainably managed and collected native oak seed - acorns - on the school grounds, which will be grown on in a tree nursery, and replanted in Welsh woodlands. We are grateful to Peter Morrison from Natural Resources Wales who came into the school to work with the pupils.
In addition, pupils started building the igloo out of milk bottles. We have received hundreds of milk bottles and aim to complete the igloo in the first few weeks following the half term break.
